What started with a catchy chorus, turned into a theme of love, memories, and acceptance. The verses are all compiled of wisdom that I wish I had been able to impart (or comprehend on my own) to my brother when he was younger. Each clip in this video has a very “mime” like attribute to it. Something I didn’t see in the both of us until recently. As we’ve grown older together, our friendship and bond has never been so damaged that a few jokes couldn’t repair it. He’s now on his way to surpassing me in musical talent, and I couldn’t be more proud. Big ol’ dumby helped me put the drum’s on time and held my bass while I recorded it mid-air and didn’t even realize the lyrics are all about us. Big monkey, little monkey. The video’s are old, thrown together, and off-time, but that’s the point: so is life. Love you brother.
If you want to learn the ways of the Wild West
follow ‘long with me, because I do it best
sing your tunes on the street corners,
and tap your Feet
get the business man dancing,
make the cash to eat
-
There’s a beauty in the desert
she will show you how
To make an honest living
‘Cause you don’t know how
-
Ever since you were born,
Were the odd one out
Never understood what
They were talking about
-
If you want to learn the ways of the Wild West
Follow ‘long with me, because I do it best
Sing your tunes on the street corners,
and tap your Feet
Get the townsfolk dancing,
Lay cash at your feet
-
If you feel like you were born into this world without
The magic found in stories you can only read about
Climb to the tallest mountain, and have no shame
There’s always new beginnings, you will find your way
-
There’s always room in hell, for one more saint
Don’t play life by their rules, don’t play their game
Scream atop city benches, and skyscrapers high
Tap your foot to your own beat, one day you’ll know why
-
Now go on, sing your tune
It’s what you were born to do
We’ve all been watching you
Now go on, sing your song
You’ve done this in another life
You’ve done this all along
-
If you want to learn the ways of the Wild West
follow ‘long with me, because I do it best
sing your tunes on the street corners,
and tap your Feet
get the business man dancing,
make the cash to eat
get the townsfolk dancing,
lay cash at your feet
get the business man dancing,
make the cash to eat
